IPPIS Enrolment: FG Asks MDAs to Meet Dec Deadline
The Federal Government has
reiterated the December deadline for all federal Ministries, Departments
and Agencies (MDAs) to enrol in the Integrated Personnel and Payroll
Information System (IPPIS).
Alhaji Bukar Aji, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, restated the position at a four-day workshop on Gap Analysis for Human Resources Role Players on IPPIS.
Aji said that all MDAs should comply with the deadline as earlier directed by President Goodluck Jonathan.

He said the directive was to help government in its move to reduce wastage and financial leakages in line with the Transformation Agenda of the President.
He said only 235 out of over 500 MDAs had fully enrolled in the IPPIS Scheme since the beginning of the project.
The head of service said that IPPIS was the Federal Government initiative in 2006 to reform the public sector.
He said it would also address the issue of availability and reliability of management information needed for decision making and other systemic deficiencies in the public service.
``Since the commencement of this project, the progress recorded has shown that about 235 MDAs have fully enrolled into the scheme.
``This proves that more than 85 per cent of the IPPIS modules on payroll emolument are operational, while less than 15 per cent of the Human Resources component is functional.
``The gap identified in the HR (Human Resources) module is a concern to all stakeholders, especially the government.
``Therefore, this workshop is not only to bridge this gap but to ensure the full implementation of the scheme by all the MDAs.’’ he said.
Aji said that an IPPIS secretariat had been established in his office to address all complaints and ensure accurate HR data update on the platform service.
He said that all the MDAs had been directed to establish an IPPIS Desk Unit to be headed by an Assistant Director to handle all issues related to the scheme.
He urged the role players to ensure that the HR business processes were completely updated into the IPPIS platform in all MDAs.
The head of service listed the role players to include the directors of HR, Finance and Account, auditors and heads of IPPIS Unit.
``I strongly believe that this project is noble and worth being identified with, hence we must take ownership of its full implement to ensure accurate repositioning of the public service workforce,’’ he said.
Dr Ezekiel Oyemomi, the Permanent Secretary, Career Management, Office of the Head of Civil Service Office, said that the workshop was designed to build the capacity of the IPPIS Role player.
He said that the office was collaborating with all stakeholders to address complaints of public servants as regard IPPIS and bridge the gap between the HR and payroll components.

To manage the human resource management is not an easy. Well for one, the calculation will probably be more correct if you are referring to the outside services that handle nothing but payroll, they should be able to do your payroll correctly, based on information you furnish them. They will make sure your deposits are done timely, and accurately, they will prepare your quarterly and year end reports, properly and timely.
